If Walls Could Talk.

 September 1, 2010  / Sandy

Wow!  What an incredible opportunity to speak into the lives of so many beautiful young women, in Mrs. B’s, Cosmetology School.  Without the seeds sow by this great woman none of this would be possible.  So Mrs. B, You’re the Best!  I’m truly honored.

As I gathered my thoughts early Wednesday morning preparing to head to class, I heard the Holy Spirit drop in my heart an HGTV show called “This Old House”.    It’s a television series, which explores some of the older houses with their architecture dating back to different periods in time.
If these old houses could talk, what secrets would be hidden within their walls?  “If walls could talk” what would these old walls say?  Strangely enough this old saying holds some powerful truths.
Our Words Have Memory:  Our Words are Being Recorded.

Lets start biblically with Joshua’s words found in Joshua 24: 25-27 NL.  So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day at Shechem, committing them to a permanent and binding contract between themselves and the Lord.  Joshua recorded these things in the Book of the Law of God.  As a reminder of their agreement, he took a huge stone and rolled it beneath the oak tree beside the Tabernacle of the Lord.  Joshua said to all the people, “ This stone has heard everything the Lord said to us.  It will be a witness to testify against you if you go back on your word to God.” Jesus said in Luke 19:40 NL;  “If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!”
Thus we are led to believe that all matter has memory.

From the very beginning of time all of creation except man was spoken into being.
In Gen. 1 God taught, what is released into the atmosphere bears significant weight.
The power of the spoken word to create our world is again reiterated in passage after passage throughout the bible.

God spoke into a dark, empty earth “Let it be”, and the rest is history.    And to this day what God spoke is still standing.  His words will not come back empty or void.  They will not fall to the ground but will accomplish their intended purpose.  They are yes and amen.

Could it be that the very memory of the earth’s atmosphere continues to be held together with those powerful words spoken thousands upon thousands of years ago?  Just a thought…

If the walls of our heart could talk ….what would they say?
If all matter has memory what would your heart be saying?   What is your heart still remembering?
Often the memories of those words are still lodge deep within, holding us captive or crippling and keeping us from experiencing abundant life.

If our words are recorded as Joshua tells us, then the memories keep surfacing again and again throughout our life until we replace them with something different.
Joshua said the stones could record and Jesus said the rocks would cry out.

Habakkuk 2:11says, “For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.”  As I read these scriptures it seems that matter can record and it will play back.
Throughout our lives that play back button keeps replaying those words from memory written upon our heart.

Most of us today have tiny memory sticks or memory cards that record or store information from our cameras or computers.  Joshua said, “This stone has heard.”  Every word, action, and deed done in the flesh has been recorded.
The wonderful news is that those negative words, deeds, actions can be canceled out once and for all, freeing us to become all God has purposed us to be.

The words we have spoken about ourselves have also been recorded upon our heart.
Such as “I hate myself”, or “ I wish I was never born”, or “I can’t do anything right”, “I’m a failure”.  These words will never allow us to live productive lives.
If not dealt with these words carry so much power our bodies begin to respond to those words and leave an open door for sickness and disease.

House Cleaning….washing those walls.

 I.  We have the power to overcome those defeating, tormenting words breaking their power to confine or cripple, to defeat and rob us from living abundant life.
On our own we can’t break their power but with the name of Jesus and His shed blood He washes us white as snow.
We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

II. Replacement… You must replace those negative words with TRUTH.
 a.   Renewing Your Mind…Renew: Re: (to re-again) to once again bring to a state of perfection.
When God made you He stood back and said, “IT is GOOD”!
 b.   Romans 12:2 says;  “Be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind”.
